Unless otherwise announced, practices are held at the NIH Field on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. Practice will resume in late August 2016. There is a routine to our practices. The typical two-hour practice follows the outline below, with 15 minutes used for breaks and discussions:

Skills: The first 45 minutes of each practice are spent on skills. We always work on throwing and sometimes have time for other skills:
  • Offense
    • Throwing
    • Catching
    • Cutting
    • Breaking mark
      • Faking
      • Pivoting
      • High and low releases
  • Defense
    • Marking
    • Covering
Concepts: The next 30 minutes are spent on understanding the game, including strategy and teamwork:
  • Terminology
  • Rules of the game
  • Spirit of the game
  • Offensive tactics
    • Speed of play
    • Stacking
    • Resetting
    • Working against a zone
    • Dealing with wind
  • Defensive tactics
    • Forcing
    • Zone
Scrimmage: Every practice concludes with a fun scrimmage, hopefully for a full 30 minutes.
